Jack S. Jackson
Don't ask him for his middle name.
A long serving Detective in the city's police force, Jack S. Jackson is a man who can't seem to make anything last. Divorced from his only love and married to a job he no longer believes makes a difference, Jack just wants his day to go smoothly so he can head down to Johnny's Bar and drink his demons away. A lone gunman for over ten years, his partner was killed in a robbery with Jack's own handgun - something he's never managed to get over as he blames himself for the incident getting out of control. Due to this, Jack rarely wields his piece and hasn't discharged it in over a decade, to the extent that he hasn't bothered taking his shooting certification for 5 years.
Jack's never really been comfortable with the idea of an almighty watching over us and ever since the day his partner and best friend died he's hated everything to do with religion and those who preach the word of God. Sadly for Jack, things are going to take a turn for the weird and he's going to find himself working with a new partner - one who is going to challenge the very meaning of his existence - and he's not going to like it one bit. Jack is a miserable, downbeat cop with no time for questions and a dislike for the human race. So, if you meet him, whatever you do, don't waste his time and definitely don't ask him what his middle name is.
